The project ROAD KING is being rolled out in phases to support long-haul truck driver’s safety, health & well-being, with the initial set of exceptional, remarkable, outstanding facilities located along with all key services spread in 9 acres at Bagodara Express Highway, for our own India’s road heroes, our truck drivers. ROAD KING has emerged as a big solution to their problem, with more locations will be added in the coming months.
Indian truck drivers, often called the “unsung heroes,” form the backbone of the nation’s economy. Each trucker at the end of the day must be appreciated because battling daily challenges is not an easy feat. While addressing the lives of truckers, or rather unsung heroes, we always strive to take a step further. At ROAD KING, we aim to streamline their lives by providing empowering facilities, one stop solution, reliable homely stay, and ensuring peace of mind with memorable experience. A vehicle, no matter how boring it may seem, always has a tale to narrate, and the drivers behind the wheel require appreciative motivation to share it.

Indian truck drivers, often called the “unsung heroes,” form the backbone of the nation’s economy, transporting goods across vast distances while facing long separations from family, tough conditions, and societal stereotypes, yet embodying resilience, skill, and some unique road culture rich in art, poetry, and community, evolving from a once aspirational lifestyle to a vital, often challenging, modern profession. Their stories highlight dedication, economic necessity, technological adaptation (like luxury features in trucks), and the persistent need for better recognition and infrastructure.

History of Truck Drivers

Our Truck Drivers Are National Heroes, and its Time India Treats Them as Such.
Truck drivers thus attracted the best amongst men, the most hardworking, responsible, honest, physically fit and ambitious. The drivers treated their trucks as their homes. They would sleep in it, cook in it and also entertain their friends in the truck.
They made a decent income as per the living standards back then, and they worked hard for it by driving 10 to 12 hours per day.

How It Started
After independence, India needed strong military trucks fast. Buying from other countries was too expensive. So, India made its own. The Shaktiman truck was built with help from Germany’s MAN SE. It was a proud statement — India can make trucks that last long and work hard. VFJ made over 75,000 of them. Though first for the military, it also helped in construction, freight, and heavy transport.
The Shaktiman truck is India’s legendary heavy-duty vehicle, built in 1959, known for its toughness, reliability, and versatility for military and civilian use.
